Sustainable Ethical Eggs (SEE) is driven by the aim of revolutionizing the poultry industry in India. The initiative plans to promote sustainability, animal welfare, and equitable farming practices. To do so, SEE has created targeted interventions which are described below.
SEE’s central elements begin with the ASK Survey, which will collect information about the current practices at the Freggs warehouse and poultry farm in order to identify the most urgent issues and gaps in the production process, as well as information about workers'experiences. Using this data, the THINK Proposal will create a framework for ethical practices based on global intervention adapted to Indian needs. SEE will then collaborate with Freggs to produce and market a line of cruelty-free Sustainable Ethical Eggs, all proceeds from which will be donated to an animal welfare organization. Finally, the HEAR Podcast will feature industry experts such as poultry farmers, scientists, and environmental advocates, and host discussions about innovative strategies like pasture-based raising, and other technological interventions to maintain ethical and sustainable production.
Through these initiatives, SEE hopes to raise awareness about the challenges posed by the current practices, create interventions based on comprehensive data, and bring about tangible change by producing organic eggs.
